Jono Josh is a Soul Pop Singer-Songwriter. Growing up with his mother in Canada’s Juno award winning Toronto Mass choir he was heavily influenced both musically and emotionally. His writing echoes the search he has taken and continues to take to find truth in an ever-changing world. Although gospel has influenced his musicality he also has taken inspiration from Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Son Lux, James Blake, and Amy Winehouse. But most importantly Jono Josh believes that every piece of art he creates should paint a picture of truth for people to connect to. That being said JonoJosh is not only a singer; he is also a choreographer and dancer.
Jono Josh has choreographed artists including Kirk Franklin, manifest, Jesse Labelle, etc. He is currently choreographing a piece to raise awareness for the ongoing problems in Haiti which will be aired on CBC December 5’th 2015. This triple threat will also be featured in Stratford’s Chorus line in their 2016 season. But most importantly he is most excited about the upcoming release of his EP this January which will feature the songs “If You Got Soul”, “Hypnotized”, and “BRDS” and will be featured at Canada Music Week in May 2016. He’s performed with artists including, Aleesia, Sean Desmond, Toronto Mass choir, Marianas Trench, Psy, and many more. Now it’s his turn to jump in the pool.
